Cumbria Police charge three men in firearms probe

Three men have been charged with of firearms offences after an incident at Carlisle Railway station.

A 28-year-old from Workington was arrested at the station on Wednesday, after police received information that he allegedly had a gun.

On Thursday, a man aged 20 was arrested in Leeds and a 23-year-old was held in the West Yorkshire area.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said all had been charged with conspiracy to possess firearms and intent to endanger life.

A 50-year-old man, also arrested in Leeds, was later released.
