Two men held over attempted murder in Egremont

Central Avenue, Egremont Cumbria Police stated that no firearms were involved in the incident

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Cumbria.

The pair, aged 57 and 17, are being questioned at Workington police station in connection with an assault in Central Avenue, Egremont, at lunchtime on Sunday.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, is in a critical condition at West Cumberland Hospital.

Cumbria Police stated that no firearms were involved in the incident and there was no danger to the public.
