Penrith woman dies after three-car crash

An 87-year-old woman has died almost a month after being involved in a three-vehicle crash in Cumbria.

Dorothy Allinson suffered serious injuries when her Mercedes was in collision with two cars near her Penrith home on 24 February.

She was taken by air ambulance to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle, where police said she died on Friday.

The drivers of the two other cars, a 24-year-old woman and a man aged 47, were not seriously hurt.
