A man has been charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of a 19-year-old passenger.

Robin Hewitt was travelling in a BMW which crashed on the B5320 at Eamont Bridge, near Penrith, in Cumbria, on 7 March.

The 19-year-old of Milner Mount, Penrith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Samuel McIlveen, 24, and of Carlton Road, also Penrith, will appear before magistrates on 3 January.

Mr Hewitt, who was the father of a young son, was a "devoted dad" who would be "sorely missed", his family said.
