Boy dies from injuries following Cumbrian farm shooting

A teenager shot on farm land in Cumbria has died, police said.

The 15-year-old boy and two men had permission to be shooting on the land in Ulpha, Broughton in Furness, late on Thursday when the incident happened.

The boy was taken to Salford Royal Infirmary where he died.

A 35-year-old man from Barrow has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. Cumbria Police said the teenager was with two men at the time of the shooting.

A police spokesman said the group had permission to be there from the landowner.
