Barrow man dies after hitting sea wall on the A5087

A man has died after the vehicle he was driving struck a sea wall in Cumbria.

The white van hit the wall on the A5087 Coast Road between Barrow and Ulverston at about 09:50 GMT on Sunday.

Arnold Harper, 56, from Thwaite Street, Barrow, was cut free from the vehicle by emergency response officers and taken to the Royal Preston Hospital by air ambulance, where he later died.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Cumbria Police.
