People in Cumbria have taken part in parades across the county to remember those who died in conflict.

In Carlisle, former World War Two fighter pilot John Nicoll, 93, who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, lay a wreath at his local church.

Remembrance Sunday parades also took place in Whitehaven and Cockermouth.

On Friday evening, 25,000 poppy leaves were dropped from the balcony in St Cuthbert's Church during Carlisle's first Festival of Remembrance.
