Dean Sheffield Dean Sheffield was a "special man", his family said

A motorcyclist has died in a crash with a heavy goods vehicle in west Cumbria.

Dean Sheffield, 47, from Frizington, was killed in the collision on the A595, near Beckermet.

Mr Sheffield, who worked at the Sellafield nuclear plant, was riding a Honda CBR motorcycle, Cumbria Police said.

The HGV driver, a 36-year-old man from Dalton-in-Furness, suffered minor injuries and was taken to West Cumberland Hospital.

Mr Sheffield's family said he would "do anything for anybody".

"Dean was a special man with a kind heart, full of life and always up for a party," they said.

"We love him tremendously and his memory will live on forever."
