Man arrested after police find cannabis plants on Carlisle farm

Cannabis plants recovered in Carlisle Police found the cannabis plants during a search of a farm in Carlisle

A man has been arrested after police found more than 100 cannabis plants at a farm in Carlisle.

The drugs, which Cumbria Police said had a street value of £55,000, were discovered during a search of the property in Orton Road.

The 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.

Det Insp Craig Smith appealed for anyone who had witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact police.
