Boost for Cumbria red squirrel numbers

The red squirrel population across the north of England has risen after 140 years of decline, a study has found.

In Cumbria conservationists said continuous culling of greys had allowed the reds to reclaim woodland habitat where it was once common.

But they say the struggle is far from over.
