23 August 2013 Last updated at 20:39 BST

A Carlisle man who has beaten up in a "vicious" attack says he wants to use what has happened to him to help others left in the same position.

Tim Ip, 27, suffered serious head injuries after being assaulted at the Concrete nightclub in Lowther Arcade on 7 June 2012.

He was in a coma for one month and was left partially sighted and with a limp on his left side.

Mr Ip said he now wants to get into physiotherapy so he can help others "in the same boat" recover from their injuries.
