Bardsea man Henry Morphet dies in crash near Ulverston

A pedestrian has died when he was struck by a car in Cumbria.

Henry Morphet, 76, from Bardsea, was hit on the A5087 coastal road near Ulverston, Cumbria Police said.

A red Vauxhall Corsa, driven by a 22-year-old woman from Ulverston, was involved in the collision.

The road was closed for five hours to allow investigations to take place. Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened on Saturday morning.
