Man released after 'gun threat' in Cumbria

A man arrested by police after allegedly threatening a person with a weapon in Cumbria has been released without charge.

The 29-year-old was held at about 14:20 BST on Wednesday in the Morton area of Carlisle, Cumbria Police said.

He was detained near Ashness Drive. Police said inquiries are continuing to ascertain what happened.

A force spokesman said there was no danger to the public and armed officers were deployed as a precaution.
