A Carlisle woman has been told she faces jail, after admitting to a £25,000 benefits fraud.

Lynsey Wright, of Sewell Road, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to three charges of making false statements to the Department for Work and Pensions.

The 46-year-old claimed income support, council tax benefit and housing benefit while living with her employed partner.

Judge Barbara Forrester said a prison term could not be ruled out. Wright was remanded on bail to be sentenced later.
