Man dies as motorcycle hits wall by A6 in Cumbria

A man was killed when his motorcycle crashed beside the A6 in Cumbria.

The incident happened near Calthwaite on Monday afternoon.

It is thought the 30-year-old, from Wigton, lost control of his Suzuki on the brow of a hill close to Bulls Head Farm before hitting a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash at about 17:20 GMT, or who saw the motorcyclist beforehand, to contact the force.
