Millom Railway Station gets new stands and CCTV to attract cyclists
A west Cumbria railway station is to get more cameras and bike stands in a bid to attract more cyclists.
Ten new covered stands will be installed at Millom Station, as well as extra CCTV, as part of a government initiative to encourage cycling in the county.
Northern Rail, which operates the station, said it wanted cyclists to know their bikes would be safe.
Spokesman Craig Harrop said money would also be invested in more station signs.
Transport Minister Norman Baker said £200,000 was being spent on promoting cycling in the west of the county to try and improve public health.
