Man's body found in burning house in Carlisle

A man has died in a house fire in the early hours in Cumbria.

Firefighters and police were called to the blaze in Linton Street, Carlisle, just after 03:00 GMT where the body of a man in his 60s was found.

Cumbria Police said the cause of the blaze was being investigated but early indications showed it was not suspicious.

A force spokesman said it was believed the man was the occupant and a formal identification was due to take place.
