A body recovered from a Cumbrian lake has been identified as that of a missing diver from West Yorkshire.

An underwater search team found the body of Carl Morris in Wastwater on Tuesday. He had failed to surface while diving with friends on Sunday.

Police said the family of the 39-year-old of Broadgate, Huddersfield, were being supported at a "difficult time."

An investigation into the circumstances of his death is being carried out by the Health and Safety Executive.

A large-scale search for Mr Morris was carried out, involving mountain rescue teams and an RAF helicopter.
