Cumbria snow causes further road closures

Police car on A66 The A66 has now reopened

Roads and schools in Cumbria are closed after snow continued to hit the county overnight.

Some parts of the county have been given a yellow weather warning from the Met Office for snow, with an added risk of icy stretches.

Workington and Cockermouth are expected to get snow flurries through the day.

The A66, which was closed in both directions between the A685 junction in Brough and the A67 junction in Bowes because of snow, has now reopened.

The A686 Hartside Pass at Alston and the A592 Kirkstone Pass at Troutbeck, are also closed.
