Stephen Kevin Aindow named as Lake District fatality

A man who died in a fall in the Lake District on Saturday has been named.

The body of Stephen Kevin Aindow, 47, from Hillside Road in Southport, was recovered from steep ground on Saturday afternoon.

He fell while walking with a group on Crinkle Crags between Shelter Crag and Gunson Knott.

Members of Kendal and Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Teams and the police were called out and air support was provided by RAF Valley.

Cumbria police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and the details have been passed to the coroner.
