Man who raped 'comatose' Cumbria woman jailed for six years

A man who raped a woman while she was "comatose" through drink in her Cumbria flat has been jailed for six years.

Jonathan Wood, 25, from Home Farm Close, Lancaster, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

Wood admitted having sex with the woman but said it was with her consent, at her flat in Kirkby Lonsdale after she had been on a night out with her girl friends.

A jury at Carlisle Crown Court returned a unanimous guilty verdict.
