Demi Burns' death: Arrested man faces no further action

A 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a Cumbrian woman has been released without charge.

The body of Demi Burns, 21, was found at her home in Newlands Gardens, Workington, in November.

Investigations into the circumstances of her death were continuing, but police said they are no longer treating it as a murder inquiry.

A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive and further tests are being carried out.

Police said the man has been released and his bail cancelled.

The coroner has been informed.
