George Hughes, 70, charged with 1960s sex attacks

A 70-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a boy almost 50 years ago in Cumbria.

Police said George Victor Hughes, from Blake Street, Barrow, had been charged with three counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14.

The charges relate to alleged assaults between 1964-1966 at the Earnse Bay Caravan Park in Walney - now known as West Shore Park.

He has been bailed to appear in court on 20 November.
