South Cumbria emergency services in 'Twitter takeover'

Emergency services in south Cumbria are holding a 24-hour "Twitter takeover".

The initiative, involving Barrow police, fire and ambulance services, and the local NHS, aims to highlight the range of the work they do.

Details of callouts in the Furness and Cartmel peninsular area will be tweeted using a barrow999 hashtag.

Officers hope it will show the volume of both emergency and non-emergency calls, and provide information on issues like crime and fire prevention.
