Eden District Council hosts tourism summit
A Lake District tourism team has organised the district's inaugural tourism summit.
Eden District Council has responded to tourism businesses' call for the high profile event in order to network and learn about future tourism trends.
The industry generates over £225m for Eden District's economy, supports over 3,500 full-time equivalent jobs and annually attracts 4.3m visitors.
The event is being held at Lowther Castle.
Jim Walker, chairman of Eden Tourism Network, said it was an important event for operators to meet other operators in the Eden area, compare notes, learn of new opportunities and plan for the future.
"The line up of speakers," said Mr Walker, "is really strong and we should all come away reinvigorated to face the challenges of the next 12 months."
