Man dies after taking part in Cumbria fell race
A man has died after collapsing whilst taking part in the Ian Hodgson fell race in Patterdale, Cumbria.
Emergency services were called at 13:00 BST on Sunday to an area known has Fairfield Horsehoe.
Darren Holloway, 42, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, was taken by air ambulance to the Furness General Hospital where he later died.
His family has been informed and there are no suspicious circumstances to his death.
The race commemorates Ian Hodgson who died in 1985 the day after winning the Karrimor Mountain Marathon race at the age of 25.
