M6 near Penrith disruption for repairs

Motorists using a section of the M6 near Penrith will face disruption for a week in order for essential repairs to be carried out.

The work will take place between junctions 39 and 40 and involve replacing the central expansion joint at Lowther Bridge.

During this period there will be a 50mph speed limit and lane closures affecting both carriageways.

The work begins on Monday and will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 GMT.
