Ormonde Wind Farm off Barrow officially opened

A 30-turbine wind farm off the coast of Cumbria has been officially opened.

Constructed by Swedish-based energy firm Vattenfall, the Ormonde Wind Farm is set to generate enough electricity for up to 100,000 homes.

The £500m two-year construction project created and supported 835 UK jobs, many of them local.

Barrow MP John Woodcock was among the guests of honour at the ceremony held on the MV Balmoral at the site off the coast of Barrow.
