Motorcyclist named after head-on crash in Cumbria

A motorcyclist who died when he was involved in a head-on collision with a car in Cumbria has been identified.

Christopher Edward Garside, 34, from the Kendal area, died following a crash on the A6 at Selside, near Kendal, just before 14:00 BST on Sunday.

The blue Renault Scenic car involved in the collision contained a family of five from the Penrith area.

Mr Garside was pronounced dead at the scene. Members of the family in the car suffered minor injuries.

Cumbria Police said the road was closed for four hours for collision investigations. Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
