Charge over Carlisle railway station firearms find

A man has been charged after a bag containing firearms and ammunition was found at Carlisle railway station.

British Transport Police were called at 16:00 BST on Friday to reports of a man acting strangely. They said the man seemed to be agitated and left a bag before leaving the station.

Police found the bag contained a small number of firearms and ammunition, which was made safe.

A 28-year-old man from Canterbury has been charged with firearm offences.
