Second walker dies falling on Pavey Ark in Lake District

A 37-year-old woman from Lancashire has died after falling while walking in the Lake District in Cumbria.

The air ambulance and mountain rescue teams from Langdale and Ambleside and Kendal were called to Jack's Rake at Pavey Ark, Great Langdale, at 13:43 BST on Wednesday.

Susannah Cox, from Lancaster, was given first aid but later died.

This is the second fatality on Jack's Rake in a week, following the death of a man on 15 June.

Cumbria police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
