Walker dies after falling on Pavey Ark in the Lake District

A man who is believed to be from West Yorkshire has died after falling in the central Lake District in Cumbria.

The Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team and the Great North Air ambulance from Penrith were called to Pavey Ark on the Langdale Pikes.

It is thought the fell walker was aged between 40 and 50.

He was declared dead at the scene, near the head of Great Langdale, north-west of Ambleside.
