Low number of arrests at Appleby Horse Fair
Arrests at the Appleby Horse Fair were the "lowest number for many years", according to authorities.
Cumbria Police said it made 28 arrests, mostly for low-level offences such as being drunk and disorderly.
In 2011 there were about 48 arrests at the event which brings about 50,000 people to the east Cumbrian town.
Organisers closed the main river horse-washing area on Saturday amid safety concerns following heavy rain. It reopened on Sunday.
Assistant Chief Constable Michelle Skeer said: "This year's fair has been great with people enjoying themselves responsibly."
As visitors begin to leave, police have issued a warning of possible delays on the roads.
The annual fair has existed under the protection of a charter granted by King James II since 1685.
