Bigrigg car death grandmother was on way to christening

A woman who died after being hit by a car outside a church was on her way to her grandchild's christening, it has emerged.
Marjorie Borwick died in hospital after the incident on the A595 near St John's Church, in Bigrigg, Cumbria, on Sunday.
The 71-year-old, of Cockfield Drive, Westfield, Workington, was a mother of six, and had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her family has described her as a "happy, fun and loving person".
In a statement the family said: "Marjorie will be so sadly missed.
"She never had a bad word for anyone and would give her last penny.
"Marjorie was looking forward to this last weekend with the family coming together for the christening of one of her grandchildren. She just seemed to touch so many people's lives."
