Ian Morrison admits making 3,000 child abuse images

A Maryport man has been warned that he is facing prison after admitting downloading more than 3,000 indecent images of children.

Carlisle Crown Court heard how most of the images made by Ian Morrison were of "low level" abuse, but that 27 were of the worst kind.

The 33-year-old, of Ellenfoot Drive, admitted five charges of making indecent photographs of children.

He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 24 November.

He was also put on the the sex offenders register.
