Man charged over drugs find in Bowness woodland

A man has been charged over the discovery of two separate drugs stashes in a secluded wooded area in Cumbria.

The charges relate to drugs valued at £2,500 found during searches of an area at Bowness on Windermere, known locally as Sheriffs Walk Woods on 14 May.

Christopher Freeston, 31, from Bowness, is charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis, and amphetamine.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said Mr Freeston was due to appear before Furness magistrates later.

Both discoveries were made after members of the public reported suspicious activity in Sheriffs Walk Woods.
