Two men have been charged with murder and firearms offences after a 23-year-old man was shot dead in a car.

Jordan Banton, from Rugby in Warwickshire, was found on Friday with a gunshot wound to his head near the village of Newton, north east of Rugby.

Two men from Rugby, arrested in Cardiff on Monday, appeared before magistrates in Leamington Spa.

Darell Atkins, 28, of Follager Road and Paul Clarke, 32, of Bluebell Close were remanded in custody.

They will appear at Coventry Crown Court on Thursday.

A teenager arrested on Saturday has been released on police bail.

Two men in their 30s, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, were bailed on Monday.

A woman arrested on Friday was released with no further action being taken.
