Man injured as car hits Coventry bus stop

A man suffered serious injuries when the car he was in ended up crushed between a bus stop and metal railings.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was involved in a crash on Hall Green Road, Coventry, just before 05:30 BST.

Firefighters had to cut the top off the car to help medics treat the man, who has serious leg, neck, back and chest injuries.

He was taken to a major trauma unit at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
