Coventry florist stages 'hunger strike' over eviction

A florist from Coventry has locked herself in a warehouse and says she is staging a hunger strike to try to prevent the building being repossessed.

Dupe Adeoye said city council bailiffs had removed stock, computers and other fixtures in a row over unpaid rent and rates.

She said she developed financial difficulties after being burgled, and that council officials had acted unfairly.

But Coventry City Council said she still owes them more than £36,000.
