Four people have been arrested in dawn raids in Coventry as part of a crackdown on drugs.

Five homes and two businesses in the Foleshill area were raided at 05:00 GMT as part of a four-month operation in the West Midlands.

Police said a family and their associates were held on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

They also seized what they believed to be Class A and B substances in the raid, which involved 50 officers.

The raids targeted properties in Ransom Road, Durbar Avenue, Tallants Road and Boston Place.

Two men, aged 20 and 30, were arrested after drugs wraps, a "taser-like" firearm, CS spray and a large amount of cash were found, police said.

A man in his 50s was held on suspicion of money laundering and a 21-year-old was arrested for drugs possession.
