The Midlands' biggest free music and comedy festival will return this summer despite "difficult financial times", said Coventry City Council.

The Godiva Festival attracted more than 125,000 visits to War Memorial Park over three days last year.

The free event, now in its 16th year, was cancelled after heavy rain in 2012 at a reported cost to the council of almost £450,000.

It will take place on the weekend of 4-6 July, headlined by the Happy Mondays.
