A car parts firm has said it will create more than 400 manufacturing jobs across the West Midlands.

Sertec Group, which makes car parts largely for JLR, said they will be "drip-fed" over the next four years.

The firm has sites in Coleshill in Warwickshire, and three in Birmingham - in Saltley, Tysley and Aston.

Chancellor George Osborne visited the Coleshill plant earlier where he outlined further economic savings needed after the next election.

'Success story'

Sertec managing director Grant Adams said hiring more employees was "very, very positive".

The company took 200 people on in November when it invested in a new plant on the former Greenwoods Communications site in Coleshill.

Mr Adams said the latest jobs were due to JLR increasing its production and new models coming through.

"Who would have thought that from when this company was founded 52 years ago, we would employ a thousand people and have a turnover of £135m a year," he said.

"It's an incredible success story."

The firm will start recruiting over the next four months.
