Honour for Paralympic choreographer Kevin Finnan

The man who choreographed the opening ceremony of the Paralympics has been honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Kevin Finnan, from Leamington Spa, has been appointed MBE for services to dance and the 2012 Paralympic Games.

Kathleen Brough, a post office assistant in Binley, Coventry, for 48 years was recognised for services to the postal service and the community.

She said she was humbled to be receiving the British Empire Medal.

Others honoured include Zaheeda Sakhawat, from Coventry, who works for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), who was appointed an MBE for services to the DWP and voluntary service to the community in Coventry.

Ayub Khan, head of library and information services at Warwickshire County Council, was appointed an MBE for services to libraries in Warwickshire.
