About 140 homes could be built on a former council depot in Coventry.

The city council wants planning permission for the homes on the three-hectare site near junction 1 of the ring road, bordered by the canal and Foleshill Road.

It was previously used by the council's engineers' department to store plant, vehicles and materials.

The site, which was cleared in 2002, will include affordable starter homes and larger family homes.
