Coventry man charged with Adebayo Adeniran's murder

A 31-year-old Coventry man has appeared in court, charged with murder following the discovery of a body in the city.

The body of 32-year-old Adebayo Adeniran, a Nigerian national, known locally as Patrick, was found in the garden of an empty house last Thursday.

Brian Albrighton, of Walsgrave Road, appeared at the city's magistrates' court.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Warwickshire Justice Centre in Leamington, on Wednesday.

A 30-year-old woman, who was also arrested in connection with the death, has been bailed while police enquiries are ongoing.

Mr Adeniran's body was found at a property in North Avenue, Stoke.

Police said a post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Det Ch Insp Matt Markham said: "Enquiries are ongoing and we are continuing to appeal from anyone who knows anything about what happened and I am particularly keen to establish Mr Adeniran's movements on Wednesday evening."
