Stratford Parkway station designers announced

The company which will design a new parkway station in Warwickshire has been chosen.

Warwickshire County Council said Mott MacDonald would build Stratford Parkway station.

The firm has previously designed the Warwick and Coleshill Parkway stations.

Councillor Peter Butlin said: "The outline design work is expected to be complete by early summer 2012 and remains in line with our goal to open the new station by December 2013."

The site chosen for the new station is at Bishopton, near the M40, and next to an existing park-and-ride facility.

The council said the project will cost an estimated £8.8m.
