Woman, 83, dies after crash on A39 in North Cornwall

An 83-year-old woman has died after a car crash in North Cornwall.

The woman, from the St Teath area, was driving a Citroen C3 which was in collision with a Ford Fiesta on the A39 near Wadebridge, police said.

The driver of the Fiesta was taken to Derriford hospital in Plymouth with serious injuries.

The road was closed for six and a half hours after the crash, which happened at 14:00 BST on Tuesday.

Police appealed for witnesses to contact them.
