A man who raped a woman in 2008 has been jailed for nine-and-a-half years.

Lee Hosking, 28, from RAF Benson, Oxfordshire, pleaded guilty to three counts of rape at Truro Crown Court.

Det Insp Stuart Ellis said Hosking, who was originally from Penzance, had carried out an "exceptionally violent rape" in the town.

Since the attack every aspect of the victim's life had been "irrevocably damaged", he said.

"I hope that it will be at least some small comfort to her that Lee Hosking has finally been brought to justice," he added.
