Woman seriously injured after being run over by own vehicle

A woman has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being run over by her own people carrier.

The 41-year-old got out of the VW Caravelle outside a house at Greenwith Lane in Perranwell, near Truro, on Monday and was hit when it rolled down the driveway.

The vehicle stopped when it collided with a gate post.

She was taken to hospital and was in a serious but stable condition, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The woman is being treated for arm and internal injuries at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
