A30 Cornwall crash: Man killed in car and tractor collision

One man has been killed and another seriously injured in a crash in Cornwall.

A tractor and trailer overturned on the A30 near Launceston on Monday at about 17:00 GMT after a collision with a car.

The driver of the red Skoda Fabia, who has not been named but who police said was from the Hampshire area, died from his injuries.

The tractor driver, from near St Mabyn, is being treated for his injuries at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said the "elderly" car driver was heading towards Bodmin when the collision happened.

The road near Altarnun was closed for eight hours for a crash investigation but has now reopened.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
